Got student loans? We have exciting news! MCCFL is an eligible site for several loan forgiveness programs designed to support professionals in healthcare and behavioral health fields.
Below is a list of available programs for which MCCFL is an eligible site. Please review their FAQs and application requirements to determine your eligibility. Please note that there may be application cycles associated with these programs.
1. Oregon Partnership State Loan Repayment Program(SLRP):

- SLRP is an incentive program for Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Licensed Mental Health or Behavioral Health Professionals, Registered Nurses or CADC III staff working at MCCFL which is a designated Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs). SLRP is funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). In exchange for loan repayment funds, SLRP requires a minimum initial two-year service obligation for full-time providers, and a minimum four-year service obligation for part-time providers. Providers may qualify for up to two one-year continuations beyond their initial service obligation, contingent on the on provider’s remaining eligible loan debt amount and availability of program funds at the time of the continuation application submission.

2. Oregon Health Care Provider Loan Repayment:

- Oregon Health Care Provider Incentive Loan Repayment (OAR 409-036) was established by the Oregon Legislature to help support underserved communities in their recruitment and retention of high quality providers who serve patients regardless of their source of coverage (Medicaid, Medicare, private etc.) or ability to pay. In exchange for service at a qualifying practice site, participants receive funds to repay qualifying educational loan debt. Eligible staff are Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Licensed Mental Health or Behavioral Health Professionals, Registered Nurses or CADC III staff.In your application use the following site name: Mid-Columbia Center For Living- The Dalles
3. Scholars for a Health Oregon Initiative(SHOI):

- SHOI gives students the opportunity to make a difference in an underserved community in Oregon. Many of the underserved communities in Oregon are rural. During your time as a SHOI scholar, it is beneficial for you to explore both urban and rural practice opportunities to maximize your chances of securing employment at an eligible site to meet your service commitment. Below are some ways you can connect with rural communities while you are at OHSU. OHSU groups can help you navigate and connect with the rural world. Eligible staff include Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners.

4. Primary Care Loan Forgiveness(PCLF):

- The PCLF was designed to meet workforce needs in rural Oregon for primary care providers. PCLF participants are eligible for forgivable loans for tuition and fees only, in exchange for a service obligation to an approved rural Oregon practice site. Eligible staff include Community Psychiatry Physicians and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners.

5. Oregon Behavioral Health Loan Repayment Program
- The Oregon Behavioral Health Loan Repayment Program (OBHLRP), a part of the Health Care Provider Incentive Program, was established to support rural and underserved communities in the recruitment and retention of high quality behavioral health providers. These providers work in inpatient, outpatient, and community care settings serving patients regardless of their source of coverage (Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, etc.). The OBHLRP accepts applications from QMHAs, QMHPs, pre-licensed and licensed behavioral health care providers. In exchange for service at a qualifying practice site, participants receive tax free funds to repay qualifying educational loan debt.

6. Health Resources and Services Administration(HRSA)

- The Health Resources and Services Administration is accepting applications for the National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program. Licensed primary care providers in eligible disciplines can receive loan repayment assistance for their qualifying educational debt through the National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program. The following staff are eligible LCSW, Marriage and Family Therapists and Licensed Professional Counselors and Mental Health & Psychiatry Nurse Practitioners.
7. Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery Loan Repayment Program(STAR LRP)

- The Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery Loan Repayment Program (STAR LRP) provides loan repayment for individuals working in a full-time substance use disorder (SUD) treatment job that involves direct patient care in a Mental Health Professional Shortage Area. The following staff are eligible: CNAs, CMAs, LCSW, LPCs, MFT, Peer Recovery Specialists, Case Managers, Nurse Practitioners, SUD Counselors
8. Public Services Loan Forgiveness(PSLF)
- If you’re employed by a government or not-for-profit organization, you might be eligible for the PSLF Program. The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance on your Direct Loans after you’ve made the equivalent of 120 qualifying monthly payments under an accepted repayment plan, and while working full-time for an eligible employer.
