Wasco County and Mid-Columbia Center for Living are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of County Commissioner Phil Brady, who died on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. A lifelong resident of The Dalles, former science teacher, and passionate community advocate, Commissioner Brady dedicated his life to public service, championing vital initiatives in affordable housing, regional healthcare access, and rural community support. For the MCCFL family, his passing is a profound loss that leaves a void in local leadership, as he was a trusted voice known for bringing people together to solve complex issues. While our community mourns a kind and dedicated leader, Mid-Columbia Center for Living and Wasco County services will continue without interruption, and work on the initiatives he championed will carry on as we navigate this transition.
